Las Vegas-Lion King

This summer we took the kids down to Las Vegas for a weekend getaway. We took the new car the first weekend we got it and headed on a road trip.
We stayed at the JW Marriott which I would recommend to anyone staying in Vegas with kids. While down there we swam a lot and we to see the Broadway show of Lion King.
Sawyer took this shot, he said he loves the palm trees

Taytem and her Dad poolside

The first night we got there Sawyer climbed into bed and was out in seconds.

Mom and Sawyer at the pool.

Taytem drinking her bottle poolside

Sawyers photography skills!

I don't have any pictures from the play because we were hanging out at the pool that morning and the headed up to the room for naps. I woke up and we were going to be late!!
Everyone hurried and showered got ready and headed to the strip.
We got to the Mandalay Bay where the play is at and went to do valet parking which happened to be full!! We made it just in time for the closing of the doors.
In all of the rush I left the camera at the hotel.
We LOVED the Lion King, especially Sawyer. Taytem did great for the whole 2 hours. Everyone should check it out.

Fourh of July

Every 4th of July that we don't go to the stadium of Fire we go to BYU football practice field and watch the fireworks. Thanks to my Dad we get special privileges, with limited people on the field. We eat pizza and the kids played around while we waited.
Taytem and Gerhig playing around waiting for the fireworks.
Taytem at the parade

Sawyer stayed out all night with his cousins, Grandpa and Dad to save our seats for the parade. They didn't get much sleep thanks to the thunder storm and rain.

My attempt to get their picture together. Taytem won't hold still for a second.

Jumbotron and Jazz Game

Rob was given some really good tickets to the Jazz game, so we took the kids and Sawyer's cousin Jaxon. During the first half every time the music would play Taytem wanted to stand up on my lap and dance. One of the times she did I notice the camera was right on her and within seconds she was on the jumbo tron dancing away!! We were all excited except Sawyer. Ever since he was just little he has tried everything to get on the jumbo tron at the Jazz and Byu games.

So through out the rest of the game Jaxon and Sawyer tried and tried. Finally when it was almost over, they tried for the last time. Jaxon was dancing away and Sawyer was playing his air guitar.and they made it!! Jaxon lean over and yelled Sawyer we're on the TV. After we asked Sawyer if he saw himself up on the jumbo tron and he said no, I just put my head down and just played!!

So it was quite the night with our family on the jumbo tron, our little famous seconds in life.

Folded in Half

The other night I went to check on Taytem, lately she has been getting her feet or hand stuck in her crib. When I walked in and looked at her my first thought was, "Where are her legs?"
Then after a closer look I notice she was laying on them. She had fallen asleep folded in half!! Her head is resting on the mattress, that is just how flexible she is.

Playing in the snow

Taytem all bundled up to go play in the snow with Dad and her brothers and sister. She was so bundled up she had a hard time sitting, I think she fell over twice before I got this picture.

Sawyer and Maycee being pulled behind the four wheeler. Easton didn't want anything to do with it. He was way to nervous. We finally got him on when it was time to quit and then he didn't want to stop.

Taytem riding with Dad.

Christmas at the Adams ( better late than never)

This year was Taytem's first Christmas and we had a lot of fun with her. She loves looking at herself in the mirror, so when I saw this cute musical mirror I knew exactly what to get her for Christmas.
Sawyer has been asking for a "real" four wheeler for the past 3 years. He has had the power wheel ones but they don't work as well. So this year all he was asking for was the four wheeler. Santa was so great and got the four wheeler. The only bad thing was on the way here from the North Pole the battery died. Dad tried to fix it and accidentally unplugged a wire.
To make a long story short, Sawyer patiently waited 4 days to ride his new wheeler!! Never once did he complain or get mad. I was so impressed with him.
He begged and begged for this jersey at the BYU bookstore even though it's 3 sizes to big.
This was his present from Taytem and he loved it. He also loved that it came with a new cheerleader outfit for Taytem.

Taytem wasn't really into the presents but she loved the paper.

Taytem and her first Cabbage Patch Baby.

Sawyer and his new DS! It's a must have for all car/plane rides.

We started a new tradition in our family, one that Rob grew up with. We let the kids open one present on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve we when with my family to my Grandma's house for dinner and a party. This year Santa came and Taytem did not like it at all. I tried a few times and even tried to distract her, but nothing worked and all of the pictures are of her screaming.

Growing up we always had Santa come, it's fun to carry on traditions with my kids.

Thanksgiving trip to Monticello

During the trip down south we went to Moab for the day. Sawyer loved the sand hill and was completely covered with red sand.

The whole family hiked to the Delicate Arch. I have never been and it was a good hike. Rob told Sawyer we had to stay on the trails and not touch or the "TH's" would be mad. Sawyer asked what it was and Rob told him is was a tree hugger and that they were really weird. So we pull up and park the car and Rob says Sawyer look right next to us they are TH's. I quickly replied Rob if you tell Sawyer that he will call them that and embarass everyone! Rob then had to explain we can't call them that to their face.(Which was even better!) During the hike I over hear Sawyer asking one of his cousins, "Do you know what a TH is? I do it's someone who is mean and hugs trees!" I guess Rob hasn't learned you don't tell Sawyer something unless it's safe for everyone to hear. Sawyer will repeat every.

Taytem had the good life in the Kelti (thanks Sarah!!)

This was our gang hanging out getting ready for the hike back.

Our cute family at the base of the Arch

Auntie Kenneth!! We love him not only does he do amazing hair(mine) he is a lot of fun.

Sawyer off hiking away. This was Sawyer's first time really hiking.

Taytem had such a good time on Dad's back, she would play with his hair, rub his neck and my favorite spit all of the back of his neck!

Gage and Sawyer, Sawyer loves to go to Monticello mainly to play with Gage these two are together non-stop the whole trip. They have sleepovers, swim in the pool and get lost for hours down in Grandma Adam's basement. We wish Gage lived closer.

Rob, Taytem and his sister Sumer and Emery

We got to the base of where we were to hike and everyone was piling out of the cars. Sawyer got in one of his moods and decided that he wanted jeans to wear like everyone else. He was so mad and didn't want to get out of the car or go on the hike. Of course he didn't say anything while I was getting him dressed or while we were eating breakfast at Grandma's or when we went back to the hotel to get a few things, or even at the store in Moab. It wasn't until we were there ready to hike. He complained and told me how stupid the hike and everything about it was until about one-third of the way up, then he ran up with all the kids and I didn't hear from him about the jeans the rest of the day!

This year we went to Monticello for Thanksgiving with the Adams Family. It is always fun to go and see all of the cousins, aunts, uncles, and Grandpa and Grandma and Grandma Pearl who last time asked who the Hell I was! She's 90 and doesn't quite remember very well. Then on the other hand is Grandpa Lynn who can remember my name, Sawyers and Taytems and how old everyone is. My favorite is Grandpa Lynn is a total cowboy but boy does he love to golf! Not to mention the little 'ol town of Monticello population 15oo(Maybe!)
This is cute Emery and Jade, who are my little shadow!!

Taytem playing with her cousin Kooper who is only three days younger than her.

It's fun to see these two and how big they are getting. Kooper can crawl and will walk with help. Taytem will do neither!

We had a good time eating lots of good food and hanging out with the family.
